   Can a Bolbitis heudelotii or African fern tear a betta fin?

   I added a Bolbitis heudelotii or african fern to my betta tank. I bought it last sat. Just now (wed) I saw a rip or hole in his fin. Can the said plant be the cause of the hole or tear?
